1 - Northumberland County Archives Service - ZRW/1 - Papal bull of Adrian IV to Askitil de Ridale, knight, confirming his possession of the vills of Wittunes [Whitton] and Lilescleve [Lilliesleaf] left to him by his brother Walter de Ridale. - Given at Benevento, the 6th the Ides of April. Leaden bulla attached. Framed. 2 - Northumberland County Archives Service - ZRW/2 - Papal bull of Alexander III to Anskitill de Ridale, knight, confirming his possession of the vills of Witunes [Whitton], Lilescleve [Lilliesleaf] and Brahebi [unidentified, possibly Brawby] left to him by his brother Walter de Ridale, also confirming an agreement between Anskitill and Huetred the priest concerning the vill of Lillescleve made at the mediation of M [Malcolm], King of Scots. - Given at Sauvigny, the 15th the Kalends of June. 3 - Northumberland County Archives Service - ZRW/3 - Papal bull of Alexander III to Walter de Ridale confirming his possession of the vill of Lillescleve [Lilliesleaf], half of Langetun, vills of Witun [Whitton] and Brahebi [unidentified, possibly Brawby] which Walter's father and forebears held of the church of Hexham, and also confirming the agreement made between Walter's father and Huctred the priest concerning the vill of Lillescleve [Lilliesleaf]. - The piece of the charter giving the place name where given is missing. Date is 6th the Ides of May. Leaden bulla attached. Framed.
